EMDR Counselling in Victoria BC

I am dedicated to providing trauma-informed therapy that fosters a safe and nurturing environment for all clients in Victoria BC, and online within British Columbia.


I believe in empowering clients through education, empathy, and evidence-based techniques that promote resilience and recovery. 


I have completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR Therapy Training, and am on my way to certification. 

What is EMDR?

EMDR therapy, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an effective approach that I offer as an EMDR Trained Therapist. This therapy has been extensively researched to support clients with a diagnosis of PTSD, and was created and researched by Dr. Francine Shapiro. It has growing research to suggest there are benefits for clients dealing with additional mental health diagnoses, such as Depression.


EMDR uses a structured 8-phase approach. The goals of EMDR therapy include:  


- Reduce Distress & Desensitizing the Fear Associated with the Event: Lowering the emotional charge associated with stressful events.  


- Shift Negative Beliefs: Transforming limiting beliefs like 'I am weak' into more empowering thoughts such as 'I am capable.' 


- Build Resilience: Learning new coping strategies to break the cycle of anxiety and enhance daily functioning.
