Growing up on Vancouver Island, I have always found a sense of peace in the rhythm of the coast. I've created my personal practice, Quiet Coast Counselling in reflection of this.
My practice aims to provide you the best care possible. I've joined the passionate team at Empowering Health Clinic to offer a stable, warm, and comfortable environment to base your counselling journey from.
I believe that healing starts with feeling safe and heard. I value bringing evidence-based practices to my work, so that you can receive care that is suitable for your needs.
I believe in a holistic approach to care, which may involve assisting you in accessing wrap -around supports. I hope to support you with symptom reduction, feeling a greater sense of stability, and achieving goals for your future.
My path to clinical counselling began at Simon Fraser University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Counselling & Human Development. I later completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Before beginning my clinical counselling journey, I spent many years working within community mental health. I have a professional history supporting youth and young adults through community mental health programs, such as Early Psychosis Intervention, MCFD, and Crisis Lines.
When I'm not at work, you will find me enjoying all the coast has to offer through hiking, walking my dog, and photography!
I am certified as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and am currently working towards registration as a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC. At Quiet Coast Counselling, I offer mental health services aimed at supporting individuals in their wellness journey.
What is a Canadian Certified Counsellor?
Certified by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), this certification confirms that a counsellor has met national standards for training and professional practice. To become a CCC, counsellors must hold a Master's degree and complete an extensive practicum. In the context of Victoria BC counselling, both CCC and RCC designations are generally considered to be equivalent.
