Before becoming an RCC, I worked with community mental health programs with Fraser Health Authority, Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD), and Crisis Lines that served clients ages 13-30.
Through this work I grew to understand the many unique challenges young people face today such as self-esteem challenges, navigating family dynamics, bullying, setting healthy boundaries, isolation, social media concerns, navigating friendships, and more.
To support my work with children and youth, I obtained training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) which is a gold-standard for helping support children and youth in an evidence-based way through trauma. This therapy has also been shown to be effective in supporting youth with mood disorders, or grief.
I offer family sessions as part of my work practicing Trauma-Focused CBT.
Trauma-focused CBT integrates initial family education sessions to support your child when it is beneficial to aid with collaboratively supporting their growth within their home, work, or school environments.
If yourself or your loved one have experienced a traumatic event, or are experiencing grief - it can be hard to know where to turn for support.
With work experience through Fraser Health Authority, MCFD, and Kids Help Phone I have extensive work experience supporting youth, and young adults struggling with mental health challenges. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, which is a gold-standard for supporting children & youth facing trauma.
