-Brene Brown

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, grounded in evidence-based practices, and collaborative. I tailer treatment to each client's needs while emphasizing safety, empowerment, and emotional regulation.

I am an EMDR-Therapist in training, and I am excited to offer this service to my clients. EMDR is an evidence-based modality that helps the brain process and heal from distressing memories and experiences. It uses guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to help reduce the emotional impact of those memories.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based therapy that helps children and youth process and recover from traumatic or stressful experiences. It teaches practical skills to manage emotions, build coping strategies, and reduce the impact of trauma.

Trauma Informed Treatment recognizes how trauma can affect thoughts, emotions, and the body, and prioritizes safety and choice throughout the healing process. We utilize a three-phase approach, where therapy focuses first on building stability and coping skills, then gently processing trauma, and finally supporting integration and growth.

We use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support different needs. CBT helps identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns, ACT is often helpful for anxiety and building psychological flexibility, and DBT focuses on strengthening emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and relationship skills.
